Mini Cooper – as seen on Car SOS Series 4
The Car SOS team rescued this 1962 Mini Cooper S from a farmer’s field, after hearing the sad story of a rally driver who was forced to retire due to a heart condition.
They asked us to strip away the paint and rust covering the inside and outside of the car, to expose any hidden issues with the shell or panels. We used crushed glass to quickly strip away all of the paint, rust and small areas of filler, so that the Car SOS team could see exactly what they were working with.
Upon arrival – the shell in much need of some TLC
The shell was in much better condition than some we’ve worked on – it had the usual areas of rust and rot, but nowhere near as much filler as some 60’s shells.
Once blast cleaning work had been completed:
The finished car looks fantastic, Fuzz, Tim and the team did a brilliant job as usual. The Mini Cooper can be found on National Geographic’s website or on All4 – here.
