This 1950’s hearse is the perfect example to why soda blasting is the best method of paint removal. Being a vintage vehicle, it had been ‘touched up’ and re-painted several times, meaning each panel of the bodywork needed to be intensely cleaned. Had other methods of blast cleaning been used, there would have been a risk of the panels becoming warped or distorted. This is due to a chemical reaction that occurs resulting in heat being produced – an issue not relevant when bicarbonate of soda is used.
Now that all of the paint has been removed, L Tranter and Son of Telford can continue to renovate the hearse to the highest standard, ready to join their fleet.
