Billed as the “most beautiful British sports car that no-one’s ever heard of” by National Geographic’s Car S.O.S., this AC Aceca arrived at our premises to have the complete exterior soda blasted. As the shell is made of aluminium, our soda blasting technique works perfectly for this type of vehicle, as there is no heat created during work (unlike more traditional blast cleaning methods), so there is no chance of panel distortion or damage during the paint removal process.
Appearing on the second episode of the show’s fourth series, we learnt that this particular car was put into storage after its owner suffered not only a heart attack but cancer of the jaw. Incredibly, he has owned the car for over 40 years and thankfully recovered from illness.
We were thrilled to help Fuzz and the team out, but were sorry to see the level of repair work that would be required to fix issues with the wheel arches, from the car sitting for so long. Here’s the photos of the car as it arrived and left our premises!
